En ce jour de fête très chauds sont nos coeurs.... 2003-04-08 (8:28 p.m.) Happy Birtday norg! I'm dead. Remedy? Shower, bath and bed. Someone remind me not to work 19 hours straight, only sleep two hours, work another 12, sleep another two, and work 8. Later! Tonight, I'll open the beers with my right hand instead of my left. The latter is covered in what looks like deep gashes and paper cuts, due to too much beer opening last night. Its interesting. I think I'll also tape up my right hand, or something. At times like these, I'm happy I heal relatively quickly. Volunteered for the dans festival from 10 yesterday morning to almost 3 am. Today? from 3pm to 3am. Insane much? Nah. Hey George, since when is it customary to play an April Fool's prank on yourself? --
My performance last night went. Really. Well. Danya arrived around 5:30 for our sound check. We did one of the songs once without mic. Then did said song with mic, and did the second song right away with, aswell. Standing ovation from my fellow classmates. My teacher told me I looked like a pro, that I sounded like the person who sung it originally. Was very touched. Very On-Key. *blink* and then everyone else, "Wow! You sing well! I didn't know you sang!" And the actual performance? Yeah. I think I was good. It's kinda vague in my head. And it was short. Two short songs. Antoine (Danya's bf) was sitting near the aisle with my dad and his girlfriend, and when I walked by to go to the back of the room after my performance, amongst loud applause and yelling, he took my arm and acted like a drunken great-uncle and said, "Super!" It was funny. Dad didn't tell me anything just then.. I think he knows me well enough that I need to wind down a little after my performances. I reached the back of the room and was greeted by hugs and kisses from friends. Ali later told me that she wanted to bring me a lily, but had napped instead of going to buy one... :) I'll have a video recording of it. I'll let you all know wether or not it was that good. But if it means anything, the women who takes care of the Café des Arts (where the show was held) came to see me after the show while we were cleaning up and asked me if I'd be interested in coming to sing sometimes for some of their variety shows. *BLINK* I was very honest with her and told her it was the first time I was singing in public, that theatre was more my thing (to which she said, "It shows! You've got stage presence like no one else there tonight!" *BLINK*) but was a good Little Sister, and plugged Danya. Gave her both our email addresses. *shrug* We'll see... Oh. Happy April's Fool.Or is it April Fool's? So much more simple in French. Poisson d'avril... - - 2003-11-13 |
